Welcome to Wilson Pioneer Cemetery Association

The land that Wilson Pioneer Cemetery sits upon was purchased in 1833 by George Wilson from the U.S. Federal Government. In 1835, tragedy struck young George Wilson and his wife with the loss of their infant son. George decided to form a burial site that would serve his family; his infant son being was the first burial in newly created family cemetery. The burials of George Wilson, his decendants, and extended family continued approximately from 1835-1940.
